Plastic solutions for the oil and gas industry

Plastic solutions for the oil and gas industry

This industry involves temperature, load and chemicals. The conditions are harsh, and the materials are required to work in extreme environments. We constantly recommend and provide a wide range of advanced engineering materials and ordinary engineering materials. Our technical service and R & D team can give guidance in material selection and ensure that cost-effective solutions are selected from our wide range of products according to your application conditions.

Processable plastics for the oil and gas industry

PI (polyimide)+

PI + material is modified by adding a certain proportion of pi to PTFE. Compared with tecasint 8001 material, it has very low creep trend under load, and has excellent sliding and friction properties. This material is ideal for soft matching materials, such as stainless steel, brass, aluminum or bronze.

Peek (polyether ether ketone)+

Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) - Victrex ® Peek 450g is a high-performance semi crystalline high-temperature plastic produced as a base material. The material has excellent wear resistance and excellent mechanical properties even under thermal load. Excellent chemical resistance and high operating temperature (up to 260 ° C) make PEEK material the most commonly used material for high pressure parts.

Nylon+

It has good stiffness, hardness and thermal dimensional stability. In addition, nylon 66 has excellent wear resistance and low friction properties. It also has excellent temperature, chemical resistance and impact properties. When using PA 66 material, it should be noted that it has a tendency to absorb moisture, which may affect the dimensional stability.

PTFE (Teflon)+

The proportion of PI + Modified PTFE material is certain. Under load, the creep trend is very low, and has excellent sliding and friction properties. This material is ideal for soft matching materials, such as stainless steel, brass, aluminum or bronze.

Reliable plastic for electrical connections

In the oil and gas production industry, power transmission is a key factor. Power is transmitted through a network of electrical connections. These electrical connectors need to be used in the harsh environment of high temperature and high pressure.

The insulating parts of these connectors used to be made of ceramic or glass. However, these materials are very fragile, making these components very fragile, so it is very difficult and expensive to manufacture. In addition, the extremely high temperature and high voltage in the working environment of electrical connectors will damage the transmission of power and data, which may lead to increased shutdown and maintenance.

With excellent thermal and electrical properties, peek + materials are often used in this application field to replace previously used materials.

Resistance to extreme temperatures and chemicals

In the oil and gas industry, oil seals are used to prevent dust, dirt, water and any other harmful substances from entering and damaging machinery. Seals are key components that help protect various components such as sealed ball bearings, plain bearings and roller bearings. It must be ensured that the most suitable material is used to produce the seal, which depends on the working environment, because different environments may require materials with different degrees of chemical resistance and temperature resistance.
